The South African National Seed Organization (SANSOR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Nicholas Goble of Corteva Agriscience as the new Chairman of the SANSOR Board of Directors. His election was confirmed at the SANSOR Meeting of the Members held virtually on Friday, 8 May 2026. Mr Goble joins a broader Board of Directors in providing strategic leadership and guidance to the organization as it continues to strengthen its role within the South African and African seed sector.

Nicholas Goble brings extensive experience in agriculture and the seed industry, with a strong background in field crops and international industry engagement. He currently serves in leadership roles within global seed platforms, including his involvement in the International Seed Federation (ISF), reflecting his commitment to advancing innovation, trade, and collaboration within the sector.

Commenting on the appointment, Dr Lukeshni Chetty, General Manager of SANSOR, stated: “We are pleased to welcome Nick as Chairman of SANSOR. His depth of industry knowledge, international engagement, and commitment to advancing the seed sector position him well to lead the organization at a time when innovation, biosecurity, and collaboration are critical. We look forward to working closely with him in driving SANSOR’s strategic priorities forward.”

Mr Goble succeeds Mr Matome Ramokgopa, who concludes his tenure as Chairman after serving on the SANSOR Board for five years, including four years as Chair.
During his tenure, Mr Ramokgopa provided steady leadership through a period of transition and strategic repositioning for the organization. Under his guidance, SANSOR strengthened its governance frameworks, enhanced its role within the broader agricultural ecosystem, and reinforced its credibility and relevance within the industry.

His leadership also contributed to building stronger stakeholder relationships, advancing advocacy efforts, and positioning SANSOR as an influential voice in matters relating to innovation, food security, and seed sector development.

SANSOR extends its sincere appreciation to Mr Ramokgopa for his dedication, professionalism, and invaluable contribution to the organization and the industry. We wish him continued success in his future endeavors.

As SANSOR enters this new chapter, the organization remains committed to supporting a resilient, innovative, and globally competitive seed sector that contributes meaningfully to food security and agricultural sustainability.
